Just as Cedric had drawn his sword to fight off his attackers, an otherworldly bellow cut through the forest. Cedric turned around in time to see a whirl of black scales barrelling straight toward him. He barely had time to react before the dragon's powerful paws gripped his shoulders and pulled him off the ground, snatching him up just as an enemy's sword had found his flesh.
